Job summary

AAco’s Comanche Station in Central Queensland is seeking a dedicated Home Tutor to supervise and support two children enrolled in Year 5 and Year 2 through Capricornia School of Distance Education. This is a live-in role on a cattle station, blending education with daily station duties.

You will plan lessons, communicate with teachers, and provide engaging activities while ensuring a safe, distraction-free learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in tutoring or distance education is advantageous.
• Strong organisational abilities and multitasking capability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in arts, crafts and extracurricular development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily school lessons and educational programs, ensuring adherence to the curriculum.
• Maintain contact with teachers via phone, email, and reporting systems, providing feedback to parents and liaising on student progress.
• Plan and prepare lessons, encourage extracurricular activities such as sports, art and science.
• Provide childcare outside school hours as needed when both parents are working.
• Maintain a child-safe environment and ensure the learning space is clean, tidy and safe.
• Assist with station tasks including cleaning and other duties as directed by management.
