Overview

Would you like to make a difference in the life of a person with MS or acquired neurological condition to maintain their employment? We are seeking an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist to join our rapidly growing Specialist Employment Support Service team in a full-time capacity to play a pivotal part in supporting people diagnosed with MS by providing advice on whole of life factors which may impact their ability to remain in work. You will be well supported by structured induction/training, supervision, and a large team of passionate allied health professionals that put the client first.

There are no billable hours and this is not an NDIS role.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of clients while conducting holistic, functional, physical, cognitive and vocational assessments.
  • Identifying vocational/non-vocational barriers and providing individualised advice and strategies to help individuals with MS maintain their employment.
  • Supporting people to manage whole of life factors which impact employment.
  • Recommending and organising workplace modifications, equipment and strategies to assist individuals to remain working.
  • Educating employers and co-workers.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and registered with AHPRA or Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiologist and membership of the ESSA.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Experience working in community settings, case management and/or in Disability Employment or Occupational Rehabilitation Sectors is highly desired.
  • Recent graduate applications will be considered.

Please note: The appointed candidate must successfully complete a National Police Check (possibly an International Police Check) and a Working with Vulnerable People Check (encompassing an NDIS worker check and WWCC) prior to the commencement of employment.
