Job summary

APA Group in Australia is seeking an OT Engineer to join our Operational Technology team, delivering and supporting critical industrial technology across our gas assets.

The role covers design, commissioning and ongoing support of OT systems including SCADA, PLCs, RTUs and historian platforms, with travel to operational sites as needed.

You will collaborate with experienced OT professionals, apply cybersecurity principles and contribute to continuous improvement of our energy infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across SCADA, Control Systems, PLCs, RTUs, Historian platforms, OT Networks and Industrial Automation technologies, while developing their technical expertise alongside experienced OT professionals.

What You'll Be Doing

As an OT Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, delivery, commissioning and support of operational technology systems that enable the safe and reliable operation of APA's energy infrastructure.

• Support the delivery of OT engineering projects from design through to commissioning and handover
• Develop technical designs, specifications, system configurations and engineering documentation
• Configure, test and integrate SCADA, PLC, RTU, Historian and control systems
• Assist with site commissioning, testing and operational readiness activities
• Troubleshoot OT system issues and support operational improvements
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, Asset Engineering and specialist vendors
• Apply OT engineering standards, cybersecurity principles and best practice methodologies
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across OT systems and engineering processes

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a motivated engineer with a passion for industrial automation and operational technology, who enjoys solving technical challenges and working in a collaborative environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience or exposure to OT/industrial control systems environments
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, Historian systems and OT networks
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• The ability to develop technical documentation and engineering deliverables
• A willingness to travel to operational sites for commissioning and support activities
• A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
