Job summary

The Y Victoria is seeking Casual Educators for our OSHC programs in the North Region (Harvest Home, Aitken Creek and Mernda Park). This casual role offers rostered hours Monday to Friday, 6:30am–9:00am and 2:30pm–6:30pm, with school holiday shifts 6:30am–6:30pm.

You will support children’s learning and build positive relationships with families and the school community. The hourly rate starts at $40.59 per hour, plus super and an OSHC retention payment.

Qualifications

• ACECQA-approved qualification required or be enrolled in a course.
• First Aid in an Education & Care Setting certificate (or equivalent) required.
• Victorian Working with Children Check (employee) required.
• Mandatory reporting under Protecting Children obligations and Foundation training.

Responsibilities

• Support OSHC sessions and school holiday programs.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and the school community.
• Work with Coordinators and OSHC team to deliver quality experiences.

What’s the opportunity?

Y Victoria is currently seeking Casual Educators for our Before and After School Care and School Holiday Programs within our North Region - Harvest Home, Aitken Creek & Mernda Park. This is a casual position, with working hours varying from Monday to Friday, on a rostered basis between 6:30am - 9:00am and 2:30pm - 6:30pm (you’ll also be paid split shift loading if you work both)! School Holidays shifts vary across 6:30am - 6:30pm.

The hourly rate for the position is between $40.59 p/hour onwards (depending on your qualification & experience) + ECEC retention payment + super.

As an Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) Educator you will be dedicated to empowering young children and have a passion for providing engaging experiences. Supported by the OSHC team and an experienced Coordinator, you will enhance positive relationships with children, families and the school community while facilitating our Before and After School Care sessions and School Holiday programs.

What will I need?

• You’ll need to have either completed or be working towards an ACECQA-approved qualification (see the link below) - or willing to enrol in a course
• You’ll need to have, or be willing to obtain a First Aid in an Education & Care Setting certificate (or equivalent)
• Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting & Other Obligations Early Childhood
• National child safety training - Foundation training
• You’ll need to have, or be willing to obtain a valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check - employee check
