Job summary

LiveBetter Children’s Services is hiring casual OSHC educators to support before/after school and vacation care for school-aged children in NSW. The role emphasizes safety, engaging activities, and inclusive practices within a fun and caring environment.

Success requires first aid, CPR, and health training, plus a willingness to work rotating rosters and build strong relationships with families and schools.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training.
• Current Statement of Attainment for the course ‘Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk’ CHCPRT0025 or working towards.
• Ability to work a rotating roster before and after school, during school holidays, and during school development days.
• Ability to interact well with children and build positive relationships with families.
• Ability to demonstrate reliability, motivation, enthusiasm and commitment.
• Desire to work with children and demonstrate capacity to enhance their experience in vacation/out of school hours care.
• Certificate III or higher in Early Childhood, Community Services, or other child related qualification.
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework – My Place My time, and its application with the service environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising all children, ensuring well-being and safety at all times.
• Interact with children, assist in planning and implementing programs; set up and clean away activities as required.
• Prepare food for children daily per health and nutrition policies if required.
• Contribute to weekly education program for before/after school and vacation care.
• Be aware of duty of care responsibilities and safety of all children in services care.
• Support inclusive practices to include children with additional needs alongside peers.
• Help children solve problems and play positively with peers.
• Assist children with personal care needs as appropriate to their ability.
• Keep rooms and play areas clean and hygienic.
