Job summary

The YMCA Queensland is seeking an Assistant Coordinator for the Shailer Park Outside School Hours Care program on a permanent part-time basis. You will support the Coordinator with day-to-day operations, lead playful, child-led programming, and guide educators to deliver safe, engaging care for children.

Applicants should have a Diploma in Children’s Services or a related ECEC/Teaching qualification (or be studying), strong communication skills, and a willingness to obtain a Blue Card and First

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated experience in children’s programming and administration.
• A Diploma in Children’s Services or related ECEC/Teaching qualification (or studying towards).
• A valid Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• A commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Familiarity with the National Quality Framework.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily running of the service.
• Assist with child-led, play-based programming.
• Provide guidance to educators and support staffing needs.
• Maintain compliance and support administration processes.
• Engage positively with children, families, schools and the local community.
