Job summary

Whoosh Care in Surry Hills is seeking a part-time OSHC 2IC to lead and support the after-school program for school-aged children. You will work closely with a Team Leader to maintain high standards of practice, supervision, and family communication, while guiding educators to deliver engaging, safe programs.

The role emphasizes leadership presence, reliability, and the ability to navigate group dynamics and program delivery in a vibrant service environment.

Qualifications

• NSW Working With Children Check required.
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Experience working with school-aged children.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with school-aged children.
• Confidence managing groups and supporting educator practice.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Reliability, initiative and professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Programming for year 3-6 children.
• Support the Team Leader with day-to-day operation of the service.
• Lead educators and model strong practice.
• Supervise and engage children in meaningful play.
• Support routines, transitions, and headcount processes.
• Contribute to creative, child-led programming.
• Build respectful relationships with children, families, and educators.
• Maintain high standards of safety, supervision and compliance.
• Step into leadership responsibilities when the Team Leader is unavailable.
