Job summary

Rombola Family Farms is seeking an experienced Orchard Supervisor to lead our orchard operations across the almond cultivation program. You will guide a dedicated team, manage day-to-day tasks, and ensure optimal health, productivity, and sustainable practices of our orchards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day orchard operations including planting, pruning, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
  • Monitor tree health and growth; implement timely interventions.
  • Create and execute maintenance schedules and tasks for the orchard.
  • Supervise and train a team of orchard workers; maintain a positive work environment.
  • Ensure safety compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Keep accurate records of activities, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with management to plan budgets and orchard annual plans.
  • Troubleshoot issues in operations and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Promote innovative practices to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Regularly report on orchard performance and improvements.

Your expertise and leadership will guide a dedicated team of orchard workers, contributing to the growth of our orchard and the production of high-quality almonds.

Key operational accountabilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day orchard operations, including planting, pruning, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
  • Monitoring and maintaining optimal tree health and growth through timely interventions and care.
  • Implementing and executing effective orchard maintenance schedules and tasks.
  • Supervising a team of orchard workers, providing guidance, training, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Keeping accurate records of orchard activities, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborating with management to develop and execute annual orchard plans and budgets.

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Solid understanding of irrigation systems and pest control methods.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and management.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • A commitment to safety and adhering to protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
