Job summary

ofi is seeking an Orchard Manager for Tocabil Orchard in regional NSW to lead safety, optimise resource use and drive high performance in the farming team.

You will be responsible for tree health, pest and disease identification, yield optimisation and delivering cost per hectare targets, with a competitive salary package, fully maintained vehicle, mobile phone, and onsite housing if desired.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge in people leadership and farm management.
• Experience with irrigation systems on orchards.
• Experience with orchard equipment and operations.
• Ability to identify pests and diseases.
• Experience implementing cost-effective agronomic programs.
• Ability to estimate yields.

The purpose of this role is to manage almond production and safety, whilst maximizing yields in order to deliver cost targets.

The Role:
As the manager of the Tocabil Orchard (located in regional NSW), you will be accountable for the safety of all people on farm. You will ensure the effective utilisation of resources (people, equipment, water, inputs and land) and will develop a high performing and healthy team culture. Orchard Managers are responsible for tree health and identifying pest and disease, maximising yields, team culture and safety in order to deliver cost per hectare targets.
A competitive salary package is available to the successful candidate including competitive market salary, fully maintained vehicle, mobile phone. Please note that company onsite housing is available for managers who are willing to live on farm.
Our Ideal Candidate:

• people leadership and management
• irrigation systems
• orchard equipment and operation
• pest and disease identification
• cost effective implementation of agronomic programs
• yield estimation

Experience with Almond farming will be highly regarded as will a working knowledge of SAP systems. Additional training will be provided to all candidates as required.
You must hold a valid driver's license and be confident of passing our pre-employment medical / drug screen as we have a zero-tolerance policy to drugs.
