Job summary

Olam Food Ingredients (ofi) – Griffith NSW is seeking an Orchard Manager for Tocabil Orchard in regional NSW. You will be accountable for safety of all people on farm, ensure resource efficiency (people, equipment, water, inputs and land) and develop a high performing team culture.

You will manage tree health, pest and disease identification, maximise yields and deliver cost per hectare targets. A competitive salary package includes a fully maintained vehicle, mobile phone and on-site housing

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience in people leadership and orchard operations.
• Experience with irrigation systems and orchard equipment.
• Ability to identify pests and diseases affecting trees.
• Experience applying cost-effective agronomic programs.
• Ability to estimate yields and manage performance targets.
• Experience with SAP systems is highly regarded.

The Role:

As the manager of the Tocabil Orchard (located in regional NSW), you will be accountable for the safety of all people on farm. You will ensure the effective utilisation of resources (people, equipment, water, inputs and land) and will develop a high performing and healthy team culture. Orchard Managers are responsible for tree health and identifying pest and disease, maximising yields, team culture and safety in order to deliver cost per hectare targets.

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking applications from candidates who are open to change, adaptable, responsible, and committed. At a minimum you will possess strong knowledge / experience in:

• people leadership and management
• irrigation systems
• orchard equipment and operation
• pest and disease identification
• cost effective implementation of agronomic programs
• yield estimation

Experience with Almond farming will be highly regarded as will a working knowledge of SAP systems. Additional training will be provided to all candidates as required.

You must hold a valid driver's license and be confident of passing our pre-employment medical / drug screen as we have a zero-tolerance policy to drugs.
