Job summary

Flagsmile Dental in Brisbane invites a qualified Oral Health Therapist to join our growing team. You will diagnose and treat periodontal conditions, work with dentists on planning, and provide care to patients including children.

Training is provided for orthodontic assistance, and you will educate patients on prevention while supervising dental assistants. Located in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Flagsmile Dental offers state‑of‑the‑art equipment and a supportive community focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Oral Health Therapy recognised by the Dental Board of Australia.
• Registration with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat periodontal conditions with patient history and charting.
• Collaborate with dentists on diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Treat children within your scope of practice.
• Administer local anaesthetic, dental radiographs, and digital scans.
• Assist in orthodontic treatment (braces/clear aligners) with training provided.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and prevention; supervise dental assistants.

Skills and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Oral Health Therapy (or equivalent) that is recognised by the Dental Board of Australia
• Registration with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Tasks & responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat periodontal conditions, including taking a health history and dental charting
• Work in partnership with the dentists in diagnosis and treatment planning of patients to maintain or restore oral health
• Treat children within your scope
• Administer local anaesthetic, dental radiographs and digital scans
• Assist in providing orthodontic treatment (braces and clear aligners) - training provided
• Communicate and educate patients on oral hygiene and prevention strategies
• Supervisory and training responsibilities to dental assistants

We are a growing practice, using State-of-the-art Dental Operatory Equipment & Design e.g. Digital Radiography (including in-house OPG unit), Intraoral Cameras, Digital Scanner.
