Job summary

Optus invites applications for its 2026 Summer Internship Program based in Sydney. The 3-month internship offers exposure to Finance internships across Commercial Finance, Billing & Credit, FP&A, Networks Finance and Financial Operations.

You’ll gain hands-on experience and participate in curated development workshops while contributing to real business outcomes. The program runs from November 2026 to February 2027 and is designed to fast-track high-potential students into Optus’ graduate

Our 3-month Summer Internship Program will see you gain the skills and confidence to how millions of Australians connect every day in Australia.

Our program commences November 2026 and concludes February 2027.

Finance Internship Program

• Commercial Finance: Supports financial decision-making, including performance analysis, commercial insights and customer-focused growth initiatives.
• Billing & Credit: Manages customer billing, payments, credit risk and revenue assurance to ensure accurate and timely cash collection.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Leads financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting to support business decisions.
• Networks Finance: Provides finance support and analysis across network investments and consumer products and services
• Financial Operations: Manages core finance operations, including financial transactions, reporting, controls and process improvements.

Qualifications That Suit This Program

University or TAFE equivalent qualifications accepted include, but are not limited to:

• Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Risk or related disciplines

Eligibility

To be considered for this program, you will need to:

• Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident

• Be an enthusiastic and dedicated learner currently in your penultimate (2nd or 3rd) year or final year of tertiary studies

• Be willing to work predominantly from our state-of-the-art campus in Sydney, Macquarie Park

• Be available for the full duration of the program, commencing November 2026 and concluding February 2027

Our Recruitment Process

1. Complete an online application form and submit your CV — takes no longer than 5 minutes
2. Video Interview & Gamification Assessments — eligible candidates will be invited to complete these online
3. Phone Interview — shortlisted candidates will speak with a member of our Talent Acquisition team
4. In-Person Interview or Assessment Centre — progressed candidates will be invited to our head offices for an interview.
5. Offer — offers will be extended following successful completion of pre-employment checks
