Job summary

Clearsight – Bondi Eye Doctors in Bondi Junction, Sydney NSW is seeking an experienced Optometrist for a hybrid role that blends clinical care with relationship-building, events and strategy. About the Role

This is a rare hybrid opportunity for an Optometrist who wants variety and career growth without stepping away from clinical work entirely.

You’ll spend part of your time delivering high-quality patient care, and part of your time out in the community — building and strengthening referrer relationships, running engagement strategies, and coordinating education events that position Clearsight as the referrer's first choice for their patients’ eye care.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys the clinical craft of optometry but is equally energised by strategy, relationship management and being the face of the business beyond clinic walls.

This position will likely be 2 days Referrer Liaison for our Bondi Clinic and 3 days in a clinical capacity.

Regular working hours are generally between 7:45am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday at Bondi depending on Ophthalmologist schedules, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and prescribe corrective lenses or vision aids
• Diagnose and manage eye diseases and disorders, including glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration
• Provide pre- and post-operative care and assist with minor procedures
• Educate patients on eye health and maintain accurate clinical records

Referrer Liaison & Business Development

• Build and grow the referrer network across Optometry and GP clinics, working closely with the Clinic Director and Marketing team
• Undertake regular visits to referring clinics to strengthen relationships and enhance engagement with Clearsight specialists and services
• Maintain and expand the referrer database, using data insights to develop targeted engagement strategies
• Deliver monthly referrer reporting on clinic visits, referral activity and outcomes
• Monitor referral trends and implement strategies to address any areas of concern
• Roll out the Optom Partner Program to drive co-management of care

Events

• Plan and deliver in-clinic and online education events for Optometrists and GPs, including program design, presenter liaison, CPD accreditation, invitations and post-event reporting
• Coordinate logistics end-to-end, from event platform management to stakeholder follow-up

About You

• Degree in Clinical Optometry and current registration with the Optometry Board
• 8+ years of solid clinical experience, with strong knowledge of eye anatomy, visual function and diagnostic testing
• A genuine interest in growing beyond clinical practice — into relationship management, strategy or business development
• A proactive, "make it happen" mindset, particularly when it comes to events and referrer initiatives
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly across healthcare professionals
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Confident working autonomously while collaborating closely with Clinic Directors and the Marketing team
