Job summary

Nine Mile’s Sydney-based team seeks an experienced Trader to join our options market-making group across APAC. You will develop and execute strategies, manage risk, and own how the book is traded in a dynamic, high-velocity environment.

This early-stage role offers genuine ownership, collaboration with a small, technical trading team, and the chance to shape growth in a expanding options business at Nine Mile. Strong quantitative skills and Python proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of options trading or market making experience at a High-Frequency Trading or Market Making firm.
• Deep understanding of options pricing and risk, including volatility surfaces, the greeks, skew, and term structure.
• Hands-on experience running and managing an options book, including dynamic hedging.
• A track record of developing and owning trading strategies, with the appetite to help grow a new area of the business.
• Strong grasp of options and derivatives market microstructure.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engaging with regulators, exchanges, issuers, and brokers across APAC options and derivatives markets.

The Role

Join Nine Mile’s market making team as a Trader, based in Sydney, focused on options across APAC. We’re expanding into options market making, with a mandate to build out across a range of products and asset classes over time. You’ll develop and execute market making strategies and manage risk across listed options.

This is an early role in a growing part of our business, so you’ll have genuine ownership over how the book is traded and where it goes next, working alongside a small, technical team from strong trading backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing options market making strategies across APAC, with scope to grow across a range of products and asset classes over time
• Pricing options and managing the book across the greeks, volatility surface, skew, and term structure
• Dynamically hedging options risk using underlying equities, futures, and ETFs

What You Will Bring

• A genuine passion for financial markets, particularly systematic and quantitative options trading
• Strong academic record in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
