Job summary

Nine Mile, Sydney-based electronic principal trading firm, is seeking a Trader for the APAC ETF Market Making team. You will trade single stock futures and ETFs across APAC, developing and executing market-making and arbitrage strategies as part of our team.

You will apply your Python skills and quantitative acumen to identify opportunities, hedge with futures, and collaborate across exchanges and brokers in a fast-paced, meritocratic environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of trading experience at an HFT or market-making firm.
• Familiarity with derivatives market structure in APAC markets.
• Solid understanding of ETF mechanics and arbitrage strategies.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Advanced capability in probability and statistics.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine passion for financial markets and systematic trading.
• Strong academic record in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, CS.

The Role

Join Nine Mile's APAC ETF Market Making team as a Trader, based in Sydney, trading single stock futures and ETFs across APAC markets. You'll develop and execute market-making and arbitrage strategies across futures, ETFs and related products as part of our market-making team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing trading strategies across single stock futures, ETFs and related instruments in APAC markets
• Using futures for hedging and relative value trading
• Identifying and capturing arbitrage opportunities across related products
• Contributing to the development of trading strategies and the growth of our traded universe
• Researching new systematic trading opportunities
• Designing and improving algorithmic trading strategies and execution tools
• Collaborating closely with the broader market-making team
• Engaging with exchanges, brokers and other market participants across the region

What You Will Bring

• 1+ years of relevant trading experience at a High-Frequency Trading or Market Making firm, ideally with exposure to futures, ETFs or APAC markets
• Familiarity with derivatives market structure in one or more APAC markets
• A solid understanding of ETF mechanics and arbitrage strategies
• Proficiency in Python
• Highly advanced capability in probability and statistics
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• A genuine passion for financial markets, particularly systematic and quantitative trading
• Strong academic record in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science or a related discipline
