Job summary

Sight Specialists in Southport on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support our clinical team. You will work alongside ophthalmologists, optometrists, and fellow technicians to deliver high-quality patient care using advanced diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

Experience in an eye care clinic or healthcare setting preferred.
Prior ophthalmic technician or orthoptist experience desirable.
Ability to learn new technology and operate diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate OCT, visual field analysers, corneal topographers, biometers, and retinal cameras.
Conduct basic consultations: history-taking, measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
Type patient notes into Gentu electronic practice management software.
Assist ophthalmologist during minor procedures and prepare the surgical field.
Prepare clinical reports and patient files; maintain strong computer skills.
Restock and reorder medical supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
