Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services in Karratha, WA seeks an experienced Operator Maintainer to operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment assets across the Pilbara. You will monitor plant performance, collect samples, complete compliance documentation and coordinate contractors while delivering safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in water or wastewater treatment operations preferred.
• Mechanical trade qualification required or essential.
• Strong maintenance planning and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants
• Monitor plant performance and support process optimisation
• Collect water samples and complete documentation
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks
• Manage work orders, parts, tools and equipment
• Coordinate contractors and maintain client relationships
• Prepare operational, compliance and performance reports
• Contribute to safe work practices and continuous improvement
• Travel to client sites across the Pilbara; may include overnight stays
• Occasional evenings and weekends to meet operational requirements

You’ll join a supportive team responsible for keeping essential infrastructure operating safely, reliably and in line with environmental and contractual requirements.

What you’ll be responsible for

Operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment plants

Monitoring plant performance and supporting process optimisation

Collecting water samples and completing associated documentation

Completing routine inspections and identifying maintenance needs

Performing routine and reactive maintenance

Managing work orders, spare parts, tools and equipment

Coordinating contractors and maintaining positive client relationships

Completing operational, compliance and performance reports

Contributing to safe work practices and continuous improvement

Regular travel to client sites across the Pilbara is required and may include overnight stays.

Some evening and weekend work may also be needed to meet operational requirements.
