Job summary

Causmag International in Young, NSW is seeking a skilled Operator to support open cut quarrying operations. The role involves safe operation of earthmoving plant and equipment, site preparation, hauling ore and maintaining access roads.

You will work within WHS policies and participate in safety meetings. The position is permanent, full-time, with a salary in the range of A$65,000 to A$85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience operating earthmoving equipment.
• Must hold a current driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, loaders, graders, dump trucks and forklifts per manufacturer specs.
• Carry out open cut quarry extraction activities, including ore removal.
• Prepare and maintain site access and haul roads, including levelling and grading roads for dump truck operations.
• Load, haul and transport ore from pit to processing facilities.
• Operate loaders to feed mobile screening equipment and manage stockpiles.

Job Description

Causmag International is seeking a skilled Operator to support our operations located in Young, NSW The Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of earthmoving plant and equipment to support open cut quarrying operations, material extraction, and material handling activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate earthmoving machinery including excavators, loaders, graders, dump trucks, and forklifts in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Carry out open cut quarry extraction activities, including excavation and removal of ore using excavators
• Prepare and maintain site access and haul roads, including levelling and grading roads for dump truck operations
• Load, haul, and transport ore from pit to screening and processing facilities using dump trucks and loaders
• Operate loaders to feed mobile screening equipment and manage material stockpiles including moving screened material and fines from screening plant
• Perform daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance of earth moving equipmentAttend training sessions and safety meetings as and when required as well as carry out hazard identification and workplace inspections.
• Cleaning up of spillage or other housekeeping requirements as requested or as deemed necessary and carrying out greasing/oiling of earth moving equipment

• Comply with NSW WHS legislation, SWMS, and site safety policies and procedures
• Maintain operational records, equipment logs, and job documentation and provide routine reporting to supervisor
• Assist with general site and labouring duties as required and incidental to plant operation

Skills

• Reading and interpreting gauges, indicators, and warning systems
• Basic plant maintenance and fault identification
