Sims Limited (Sims) is seeking an Operator to join our Brisbane yard team. You will operate a range of mobile plant and equipment, load and unload materials, and support yard operations with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will sort metals, assist with processing, and help maintain a clean, safe site. The role offers hands-on work in a dynamic recycling environment with opportunities for skill development and career progression.

Formación

• Forklift licence required.
• Proven experience operating mobile plant and equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Load and unload trucks, skip bins, and trailers safely and efficiently.
• Operate plant and equipment, including forklifts, material handlers, loaders, and excavators.
• Grade, sort, and manage ferrous and non-ferrous metals to meet operational and quality requirements.
• Assist with receiving, processing, and dispatching materials.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and operational procedures.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Assist with general yard duties and other operational tasks as required.
• Provide outstanding customer service to drivers and customers.

Operator

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our recycling yard. You'll operate a range of mobile plant and equipment, including excavators, forklifts, to sort, grade and process ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This is a hands-on, physically active role where you'll also support general yard operations, assist with loading and unloading materials, maintain housekeeping standards, and contribute to the smooth running of the site. Working as part of a committed team, you'll help ensure all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational, environmental and quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
