Queensland Building & Construction Commission is seeking an experienced Operations Team Leader to guide a high-performing Regional Services team in Townsville. The 12-month temporary role (3 November 2026 to 2 November 2027) offers flexible work arrangements and the chance to deliver customer-focused regulatory outcomes.

You will coordinate workflows, monitor performance, manage risks and provide operational leadership to build capability and achieve service objectives across the region.

Are you an experienced operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional service outcomes?The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is seeking a motivated and capable Operations Team Leader to join our Regional Services leadership team in Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership, technical guidance and operational oversight while contributing to the delivery of customer-focused and regulatory outcomes across the region.

This is a full-time temporary opportunity based in Townsville for a 12-month period from 3 November 2026 to 2 November 2027, with flexible work arrangements available.

About the role

As the Operations Team Leader, you will lead and support a team responsible for delivering operational and service outcomes across Regional Services. You will play a critical role in coordinating workflows, monitoring performance, managing risks and ensuring quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating team workflows, priorities and workloads to achieve agreed service and performance objectives.
  • Providing operational leadership, coaching and technical guidance to support team effectiveness and capability development.
  • Monitoring operational performance, analysing trends and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and business outcomes.
  • Managing complex and escalated matters to achieve positive customer and regulatory outcomes.
  • Building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of quality assurance.
  • Providing operational insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by the Regional Manager.
