Dragonfly Shipping is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor for its Salisbury delivery hub. You will lead a fast-paced team, optimize parcel flows, and ensure on-time deliveries across Australia while upholding safety standards and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Monitor driver progress and manage exceptions during PM shift.
• Track driver performance, safety, attendance, and route adherence.
• Oversee parcel returns, failed deliveries, and scanning accuracy.
• Review and optimise routes for next day to improve capacity and efficiency.
• Coordinate truck receivals, unloading, and inventory verification.
• Maintain accurate delivery performance reporting and SOP compliance.
• Provide coaching and feedback to the operations team to lift PM shift results.
• Escalate delivery issues, staffing gaps, and compliance risks to leadership.

About the Role:

As the Operations Supervisor, you will use your strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations to drive station performance, improve efficiency, and maintain safety and compliance standards. You will support the Station Manager and Senior Operations Supervisor in achieving operational and financial objectives while leading a safe, organised, and high-performing work environment.

You will oversee Dragonfly’s parcel lifecycle, including dispatch, returns, driver bookings, route optimisation, and delivery compliance. You will also provide leadership, coaching, and training to warehouse staff and drivers, ensuring high service standards, strong team performance, and customer satisfaction.

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday, 5:00pm - 3:00am

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor driver progress throughout the PM shift, proactively managing exceptions, delays, missed scans, failed deliveries, and route completion to support service performance.
• Track driver performance and compliance, including on-road behaviours, POD accuracy, delivery standards, attendance, communication, and adherence to operational procedures.
• Oversee parcel returns, including failed deliveries, damaged freight, customer returns, return pickups, scanning accuracy, reconciliation, and handover requirements.
• Review and optimise routes for the following day, identifying opportunities to improve capacity, delivery efficiency, service outcomes, and driver allocation.
• Support next-day sort planning by confirming expected volumes, staffing requirements, equipment needs, and operational priorities with the relevant teams.
• Coordinate truck receivals and unloading, ensuring freight is safely received, verified, staged, scanned, and escalated where discrepancies or damage are identified.
• Maintain accurate reporting across delivery performance, failed deliveries, returns, incidents, compliance checks, shift handovers, and key operational metrics.
• Monitor compliance with Health & Safety requirements, SOPs, safe unloading practices, site procedures, driver standards, and incident reporting obligations.
• Provide clear direction, coaching, and feedback to operational team members to improve PM shift performance and support consistent service delivery.
• Escalate unresolved delivery issues, driver concerns, compliance breaches, staffing gaps, and operational risks to the Station Manager or relevant stakeholders.
• Resolve delivery exceptions, customer concerns, damaged parcels, lost packages, and return-related issues promptly and professionally.
• Support continuous improvement across PM shift processes, driver performance, return flows, route planning, and handover quality to uphold Dragonfly’s service standards.

Key Requirements:

• Leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in transportation, freight, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
