Job summary

Virgin Australia Airlines is seeking an Operations Schedule Integration Specialist to drive governance and change across departments and front line, advancing operational performance and stability of our flying operations with a balance of business needs.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, apply policy, test changes, and engage stakeholders at all levels, while thriving in a flexible, hybrid work environment in Brisbane.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary education in aviation, logistics or related discipline.
• Leadership experience in aviation, scheduling or resource planning.
• 3+ years in logistical operations, scheduling or resource planning.
• Understanding of network seasonality and SLOT submission practices.
• Ability to operate in cost-conscious, people-centered environments.
• Experience across multi-department airline or technical operations.

What you’ll be doing:

The Operations Schedule Integration Specialist role is to drive the best practices of governance and change across departments and to our front line and be responsible for strategically enhancing the operational performance and stability of our flying operations, with a primary focus on the balance of operational and business requirements.

You’ll be great in this role if you:

• Have a relevant tertiary education in aviation, logistics or a related discipline desirable
• Bring relevant leadership experience in aviation, logistical scheduling or resource planning
• Have at least three years’ experience in logistical operations, scheduling or resource planning
• Have a sound understanding of network seasonality and SLOT submission practices
• Understand the challenges of operating in a cost-conscious, people-centred environment
• Bring multi-departmental airline or technical operations experience
• Have delivered cross-functional projects and supported change in an operational environment
• Build strong relationships and confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Have highly developed planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Take a systems-based approach to business improvement
• Can interpret and apply policy to work assignments and operational challenges
• Are able to test existing policies and provide constructive feedback to support leadership decision making
• Can craft engaging, high-impact messages for a range of audiences
• Bring exposure to financial and budgetary management in an operational environment
• Have some leadership or people management experience
• Understand aviation regulations, legislation and operational requirements
• Demonstrate strong analytical capability and business acumen
• Understand the interdependencies between Network, Scheduling and Operations and their impact on operational KPIs and NPS
• Understand the broader organisational landscape, including key issues, challenges and business unit interdependencies
• Have an understanding of change management principles and their application in operational environments
