VICSES is seeking an Operations Officer - Emergency Management to support volunteers, local governments and the community in preparing, operationalising, reviewing and exercising emergency management arrangements for VICSES hazards.

The role includes operational command during local to state-wide operations as Regional Duty Officer and IMT, with a fixed-term, full-time appointment and an application close date of 12 October 2026. Flexible working arrangements may apply.

$100,894 to $114,476 + 15% Commuted Allowance + 12% SuperFixed Term Full Time - up to 1 December 2026We offer a wide range of flexible working arrangements to suit everyoneROLE SUMMARY: The Operations Officer - Emergency Management is an integral role within the Unit Support Team, responsible for the general guidance and support of VICSES Volunteer Units.This role is responsible for providing high-level advice, support, training, and assistance to VICSES volunteers, local governments, other organisations and the community in the preparation, operationalisation, review and exercising of emergency management arrangements for VICSES Control Agency hazards to ensure VICSES meets its legislative requirements.This role will actively undertake operational command and control functions during specific local, regional and/or state-wide operations performing the Regional Duty Officer function and/or Incident Management Team (IMT) role.For more information on Commuted Allowance/IMT/Duty Officer role, please see this factsheetWHO WE ARE: Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency eventsAs the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents.
