Job summary

Assembly Now is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the warehouse and on-road teams across NSW and ACT. You will drive daily operations, safety, and service quality for premium furniture delivery and installation, while coaching staff and coordinating with clients.

In this role you’ll plan routes, manage rostering and performance, monitor costs, and ensure compliance. A practical, hands-on leader with a customer-first approach will thrive here.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Warehouse, Logistics or Project Management.
• Demonstrates leadership across warehouse and field teams.
• Uses structured operational thinking to plan daily workflows.
• Shows commercial acumen by understanding cost drivers and financial impact.
• Builds and maintains positive client relationships through clear communication.
• Responds to operational challenges with sound judgment and resilience.
• Proficient with business computing applications.
• Access to a motor vehicle for work hours.
• A current National Police Certificate will be required prior to commencement.
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of the warehouse team and on-road transport/installation crews within the state.
• Provide clear direction, task allocation, and performance expectations to ensure safe, efficient service.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members.
• Manage rostering, attendance and workforce planning for daily operations and project needs.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and team check-ins to maintain alignment.
• Plan and optimise daily delivery, installation, and project routes to maximise efficiency.
• Monitor vehicle utilisation, job allocation, and driver performance.
• Track job profitability, fuel usage, and labour hours to support decisions.
• Act as a key contact for state-based clients, providing updates and resolving issues.
• Oversee maintenance, inspection, and readiness of all equipment and vehicles.
