Job summary

Mainstream Recycling, a fully owned subsidiary of TDG Environmental, seeks an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee NSW and VIC facilities, based in VIC. You will report to the General Manager and lead a Facility Supervisor at each site.

You will drive daily operations, manage maintenance and capital projects, and mentor the team while ensuring safety, reliability and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in business or a related field, or an engineering/maintenance trade background.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Experience in liquid processing plant operations and reliability planning.
• Strong strategic planning and ownership of initiatives.
• Safety and risk management experience in maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and maintenance to maximise utilisation and reliability.
• Manage maintenance and availability of fixed and mobile plant and equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and coordinate repairs to get plant back online.
• Plan and deliver plant upgrades, replacements and capital works projects.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and quotes to keep work safe, on budget and to standard.
• Mentor and lead the maintenance team and ensure TDG procedures are followed.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee the operation of Mainstream Recycling’s facilities across NSW and VIC, based in VIC. You’ll report to the General Manager, and a Facility Supervisor for each facility will report to you.

In this role, you will:

• Lead daily operations and maintenance so our facilities stay reliable and run at maximum utilisation


• Manage the maintenance, reliability and availability of all fixed and mobile plant and equipment


• Respond to critical breakdowns and coordinate repairs to get plant back online


• Plan and deliver plant upgrade, replacement and capital works projects


• Manage contractors, suppliers and quotes to keep work safe, on budget and to standard


• Keep all maintenance and project work compliant with safety systems, legislation and TDG procedures


• Manage maintenance and project budgets, and lead and mentor the maintenance team

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who combines strong operational and maintenance expertise with the ability to lead teams, manage projects and drive continuous improvement.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in business or a related field, or an engineering / maintenance trade background, specifically with chemical dosing and waste wash plants


• Proven experience leading and developing teams


• Experience in liquid processing plant operations and reliability planning


• Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to take ownership of approved initiatives


• Sound knowledge of identifying and controlling safety and business risks in maintenance


• A track record of improving output through better equipment performance and reliability


• Excellent leadership, business acumen and problem-solving skills
