Job summary

Vinova in Adelaide is seeking an experienced electrical professional to transition from field work into a technical management role within renewable energy. You will support a portfolio of solar, BESS and hybrid assets, working between the field and office to coordinate technicians, respond to faults and plan maintenance.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and strong hands-on electrical background.
• Experience in a Senior Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, Lead Technician, Field Service, Maintenance or similar technical leadership position.
• Strong fault-finding, maintenance and troubleshooting capability.
• Experience across solar, BESS, renewable energy, HV, industrial electrical systems or similar operational environments.
• Comfortable interpreting technical information and working with electrical equipment, monitoring systems and operational data.
• Previous experience leading, supervising or delegating work to technicians or contractors.
• Exposure to maintenance planning, work orders, quotations, procurement, budgets or contractor costs highly regarded.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients, OEMs, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical issues into practical actions.
• Level-headed and pragmatic when dealing with faults, breakdowns and changing operational priorities.
• Adaptable and comfortable working within a small, growing team where responsibilities can change depending on what the business needs.
• Looking to move further into management while remaining connected to the technical side of renewable assets

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of a portfolio of solar, BESS and hybrid renewable energy assets.
• Lead and coordinate technicians, contractors and specialist service providers.
• Support fault investigations, breakdown response and restoration activities.
• Interpret SCADA, inverter and monitoring data to identify technical and performance issues.
• Plan and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Work closely with OEMs, suppliers and contractors to resolve equipment and warranty issues.
• Support maintenance budgets, quotations, purchase orders, contractor costs and service-provider performance.
• Liaise directly with clients and asset owners on operational matters.
• Coordinate outages, site activities and technical works across multiple assets.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and operational documentation.
• Support the development of procedures, isolation plans and safe systems of work.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the wider O&M team.
• Assist the O&M Manager as the department and asset portfolio continue to grow.

What will this job do to improve your life?

This is an opportunity for an experienced electrical professional to make the move from being predominantly field-based into a broader technical management role within renewable energy.

You will work directly with the O&M Manager, taking increasing ownership across a growing portfolio of operational solar, BESS and hybrid assets while still remaining close enough to the technical detail to add real value.

Rather than looking for an established Asset Manager, we are looking for someone who has built their career through the tools, developed strong electrical and fault-finding capability, and is now ready to take the next step into leadership, planning, contractor management and wider operational responsibility.

For someone currently working as a Senior Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, Lead Technician, Field Service Supervisor or similar who does not want to be on the tools forever, this provides a genuine pathway into O&M and asset management without losing the technical side of your background.

About the role

Reporting directly to the O&M Manager, you will support the operational management of a portfolio of solar, battery storage and hybrid renewable energy assets.

The position sits between the field and the wider business. You will help coordinate technicians and contractors, respond to faults and performance issues, plan maintenance activities, work with OEMs and suppliers, and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.

This is primarily an office-based position in Adelaide, although the environment is dynamic and there will be periods where site attendance is required depending on operational priorities.

You will be joining a developing O&M function where there is genuine scope to grow with the team. The expectation is not that you arrive as the finished Portfolio Manager, but that you bring strong technical credibility, leadership potential and the ability to develop into broader operational and commercial responsibility over time.
