Job summary

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) is seeking an Operations Manager for the Warren Region, based in Manjimup or Pemberton. The role supports the District Manager, coordinates the district works program, and drives sustainable forest management, parks and visitor services, and fire management.

You will lead the Conservation Employee workforce, manage plant, vehicles and equipment, liaise with the Forest Products Commission, and represent the district in internal

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in natural resource management including environmental, recreational, fire, forest and reserve management.
• Considerable leadership, supervisory, organisational, works program planning, and human resource management skills.
• Evidence of strong oral communication and interpersonal skills with liaison and negotiation experience.
• Knowledge of administrative and financial management including budget preparation and expenditure control.

Responsibilities

• Managing the district Conservation Employee workforce and implementing the works program within the Donnelly District.
• Coordinate sustainable forest management programs within the district annual schedule and resource constraints.
• Assist the District Manager with district administration and management.
• Coordinate plant, vehicles, equipment and material resources; oversee fleet needs and coordination with FPC.
