Operations Coordinator - Charter Services

As one of the largest private bus operators across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, CDC Victoria is in the business of "Linking People, Places and Communities".

With a fleet of over 750 buses and coaches, we employ over 1400 staff from 80 diverse nations, and operate out of 9 depots - in Ballarat, Geelong, Mildura and Broken Hill, Oakleigh, Albion, Airport West, Westmeadows and Truganina, which incorporates our Head Office.

We serve the community by providing essential public transport and offering reliable charter services to schools, sporting groups and other recreational groups within Victoria.

The Role:

We are in search of an Operations Coordinator to assist in overseeing our Charter operations and bus depot located in Westmeadows. This is a full-time ongoing position. The Operations Coordinator plays an integral role in ensuring we meet our public transport, school and charter contract requirements. The ideal candidate should possess a proven history of effectively engaging with and managing drivers within the transportation industry.

Reporting directly to the Charter Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for:

Coordinate operational duties, and ensure that services are provided in an efficient, safe, cost effective and timely manner;

Ensure that all work performed within the depot is carried out safely and with regard to the personal safety of all employees;

Ensure that company resources, employees and vehicles are sufficiently allocated to ensure that the company provides a safe and efficient service to the public;

Manage driver rosters, staffing levels, and vehicle allocation to ensure efficient daily operations, including special events and charter services;

Coordinate drivers and depot staff, manage leave and shift changes, and ensure all licensing, accreditation, and fatigue management standards are consistently met;

Monitor service performance, optimise resource use, collaborate with maintenance on vehicle availability, and liaise with external stakeholders to support reliable service delivery.

To excel in this role, you will have:

Demonstrated prior experience in transport or related industry;

Demonstrated 'hands-on' leadership and people management skills;

Understanding of, and a commitment to, a safe, compliant working culture;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Comprehensive computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Word and Excel software; and

An understanding of the Bus Safety Act, and Bus Safety Regulations.
