Job description

The Company

Founded in 2025 by Sam Rogers, who grew up managing 6,000 head on a North Queensland cattle station, Brumby builds autonomous drones that move and monitor cattle across the world’s largest properties. We’re replacing helicopters and motorbikes with drones that herd cattle, count herds, and monitor pasture on their own. Helicopter mustering is expensive, dangerous, and still misses cattle. Our drones launch from a dock, fly the paddock, do the work, and come home.

We went through YC (W26) and raised a seed round from the best investors in the valley. Our team is small and we’re already working with some of the largest stations and farms in the world. We’re a team of 6 and growing steadily, spanning computer vision, robotics, AI engineering and a Chief of Staff. We work hard because our graziers do.

The role

You will be the operational glue at Brumby. Customers, events, content, systems, the office: if it keeps the company running, you will have a hand in it. You will report to our Chief of Staff and work across every part of the business, from making sure a demo day on a cattle station runs without a hitch to keeping our internal tools clean and making sure new hires have a great onboarding experience.

This is a high-agency role. No two weeks will look the same, and there is no playbook. You will write it and then wherever you can, automate it. We want someone with real AI competency, who reaches for AI tools first and automates the repetitive parts of our operations so a small team can move like a much bigger one. We’re a team of six, so you will work directly with the founding team every day. Moving quickly is key: what’s below is what the next six months look like, and beyond that the role will change and evolve as Brumby grows. You will need to thrive at startup pace and be comfortable with ambiguity.

What you will own
Customer operations
  • Events and demo days: Coordinate customer events and demo days, ensuring logistics are taken care of and every event runs smoothly.

  • Customer support: Support with first-line responses and triage, and build macros and help docs in Intercom.

Internal ops
  • People ops: Support the Chief of Staff with the design and delivery of employee onboarding.

  • Employer brand and culture: Support the Chief of Staff in building a strong employer brand by organising industry events, developing people policies, and fostering a positive company culture.

  • Internal systems and comms: Keep our tools (Notion, Intercom, Slack) clean, up to date and working. Publish internal comms updates and help develop internal playbooks.

Workplace and logistics
  • Office management: Keep the office running. Supplies, space, and everything in between.

  • Corporate travel and logistics: Bookings, itineraries, and logistics for the team.

  • Third-party relationships: Manage the partners that keep Brumby running.

Brand and content ops
  • Social media and media management: Run our social channels and media presence.

  • Asset library: Create and maintain decks and promotional material, coordinate photography, and build our asset library.

  • Field days and external events: Coordinate logistics and preparation for external events (e.g. EvokeAg).

  • Swag and merch fulfilment: Own merch from order to delivery.

What we’re looking for

We care about high agency more than any specific credential. Show us things that you have owned end to end and tell us why you’re interested in this role.

Must-haves
  • A track record of ownership: things that happened because you made them happen, that was nobody’s job, including yours

  • Comfortable making progress without structure, process or supervision

  • AI competency: you use AI tools daily and instinctively look to automate repetitive work rather than grind through it

  • Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams without dropping anything

  • Clear, warm written communication, whether it’s a customer reply, a help doc or an internal update

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in operations, coordination or a similarly scrappy generalist role

Strong advantages
  • Experience at an early-stage startup or another small, fast-moving team

  • Events or logistics coordination experience

  • Evidence you pick up tools fast

  • Comfort in agricultural or regional settings

The Setup
  • Based in our Sydney office five days a week

  • Occasional domestic travel, including trips out to cattle stations for demo days and field events

  • Full Australian working rights required

  • Report to our Chief of Staff and work closely with the founder

  • Competitive salary and early stage equity
