Job summary

Michael Page Australia is partnering with a client in Melbourne seeking a Project Manager Operational Technology to scope, price, schedule and deliver OT projects via OTMPD providers.

You will drive engagement with internal and external stakeholders, manage risks, contracts, and service providers, and ensure compliance and handovers across operators and maintenance teams. This is a 12-month temporary contract with hybrid working, located in Docklands.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering OT technology projects from planning to implementation.
• Desirable PMP/AIPM/PRINCE certification.
• Ability to develop practical project plans, schedules and milestones.
• Experience coordinating project activities across internal stakeholders.
• Strong capability in monitoring project progress and maintaining delivery documentation.
• Experience with asset management systems such as Maximo/SAP.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OT projects are scoped/defined, priced, scheduled, managed/delivered by OTMPD Service Providers and closed.
• Provide project management expertise to other portfolios within the organisation as required.
• Identify and organise interdependent scope delivered by others (IT provider, SCADA, etc.) to enable OTMPD delivery.
• Maintain engagement with OT Providers, sponsors, governance committees for handovers.
• Ensure compliance for control system projects and external provider delivery.
• Manage project risks and escalations to governance/sponsors.
• Oversee monthly financial, scheduling, and reporting aspects of OT projects.
• Manage Service Provider performance and contractual claims.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for best-practice delivery.
• Drive safety culture on projects.

About Our Client

Our client operates in the Industrial sector in Melbourne and our going through a significant transformation in the Operational Technology.

Job Description

• Ensure OT projects are successfully scoped/defined, priced, scheduled, managed/delivered by OTMPD Service Providers and closed.


• Provide project management expertise to other portfolios within the organisation as required.


• Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify, define and organise interdependent scope delivered by others (e.g. IT provider, SCADA etc.) to enable successful OTMPD project delivery.


• Maintain engagement with OT Service Provider's, project sponsors, governance committees and any internal/external stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and required handovers (operators, maintenance provider etc.).


• Ensure compliance for control system projects and that external providers deliver on project outcomes.


• Manage project risks and escalation to governance committees and sponsors as required.


• Manage monthly financial, scheduling and other reporting aspects of OT projects.


• Manage Service Provider performance in delivery of OT projects and maintenance services.


• Review and approve Service Provider contractual claims (variations, etc.), managing disputes and escalating issues to the appropriate governance and steering committee's where required.


• Identify, lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to support best practice project and program delivery.


• Drive generative safety culture on projects.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Project Manager Operational Technology' should have:

• Experience managing technology projects through planning, delivery and implementation.


• Competency-based project management certification is desirable (PMP, AIPM, PRINCE etc.).


• Ability to develop practical project plans, schedules and delivery milestones.


• Experience coordinating project activities across internal stakeholders.


• Strong capability in monitoring project progress and maintaining delivery documentation.


• Ability to communicate project updates, actions and delivery considerations clearly.


• Experience identifying project issues and coordinating appropriate follow-up actions.


• Experience managing Service Provider's, including performance management, contract/claim management etc.


• Experience with asset management systems and software such as Maximo/SAP is desirable.
