Job summary

The Lottery Corporation in Australia is seeking a hands-on Level 2 support engineer to maintain and support critical business systems, databases, servers and related infrastructure. You will investigate incidents, drive operational improvements and help ensure the reliability of real-time transaction processing.

You will also contribute to automation, monitoring and operational excellence initiatives, improving service reliability and reducing risk.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting business-critical applications in production environments.
• Strong Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server knowledge.
• Experience troubleshooting complex incidents and operational issues.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability and alerting tools.
• Understanding of ITIL-based service management practices.
• Scripting capability using PowerShell, Python or similar technologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A strong commitment to documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Experience in high-volume, highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support across critical business systems and applications.
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve production incidents.
• Own incidents through to resolution and post-incident review.
• Monitor system health, performance and operational stability.
• Improve monitoring, alerting and operational tooling.
• Support production releases and service transitions.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call support roster.
