Elements Recruitment Australia in Western Sydney is seeking an Operational Safety Manager to own safety from day one, leading a ground-up review of existing procedures and driving a real shift in culture and practice.

This newly created role provides senior authority, a clear progression path to Head of Safety and Compliance, and the mandate to shape safety strategy with real investment from leadership.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior operational safety role within high-risk, regulated environments.
• Strong track record of leading investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Comfort working in yards, depots and vehicles with a hands-on approach.

Responsabilités

• Lead a ground-up review of current safety procedures and implement practical improvements.
• Rebuild and maintain SWMS, risk assessments and SOPs.
• Own end-to-end incident and near-miss investigations with corrective actions.
• Build readiness for dangerous goods handling, including training and risk assessments.
• Lead safety training across drivers, plant operators and site teams.
• Drive a measurable shift in safety culture and leadership engagement.
• Oversee heavy vehicle safety, fatigue management and scheduling risk.
• Manage Return to Work and Workers Compensation cases.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness, drills and post-incident reviews.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe activity is identified.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to embed safety into daily decisions.
• Report safety performance and trends to the General Manager.
