Here, your work has purpose, your voice matters and your future is full of possibility.

Just imagine the impact you could make.

About the Role:

The Health Services portfolio currently includes our Dental, Optical & Hearing, Medical Centres and Mental Health Clinics as well as providing health care services on behalf of the Australian government to the Australian Defence Force and for visa assessments purposes. Our Health Services business is driving and accelerating our focus on expanding our health care offerings and increasing our owned provision footprint.

All of this will require a relentless focus on building and enhancing our strategic capabilities, leveraging our size, scale, and experience. Enabling our portfolio of businesses to meet their full potential, as well as ensuring we are creating a seamless and connected experience for our customers, both within Health Services as well across the Bupa APAC business more broadly.

The Operational Excellence Senior Consultant plays a pivotal role in supporting and driving transformation across Bupa’s Health Services portfolio. Positioned between strategic leadership and hands‑on delivery, this role is responsible for leading moderately complex initiatives, supporting senior stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members. The Senior Consultant will contribute to shaping and executing operational improvement strategies that align with Health Services’ priorities and Bupa’s broader APAC objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage moderately complex projects and initiatives that align with Health Services’ strategic goals, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Operational Excellence Partners to scope, plan, and execute transformation and improvement initiatives across business units.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process simplification, standardisation, and optimisation.
  • Facilitate workshops and working groups to co‑design solutions and embed continuous improvement practices.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Health Services and the APAC Market Unit.
  • Drive project management discipline and embed the use of standard project management frameworks and use of tools across the program so that project information is readily accessible.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the toolsets to meet evolving business needs and drive efficiency in portfolio management and delivery
  • Provide project coordination support, including documentation, reporting, and risk tracking and recommending solutions, while also contributing to strategic planning discussions.
  • Mentor and guide Operational Excellence Consultants, supporting their development and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Support the development of change and communication plans to drive engagement and adoption of new ways of working. Ensure compliance is in line with our risk framework and regulatory requirements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive project performance, track benefits realisation against key results, and contribute and lead the post‑implementation reviews.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and customer‑centricity.
You will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery of medium to large‑scale, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement within large or complex organisations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under tight time constraints.
  • Commercial Acumen: Advanced understanding of project management, project performance and ROI measures including monitoring budget allocation across project expenditure meeting fiscal objectives
  • Customer Focus: Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Demonstrated experience in data governance, data quality management, and data management best practices
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to convert data into actionable insights.
  • Providing guidance on risk management strategies for sensitive matters while facilitating cultural change to move away from a compliance mindset to dynamic risk management.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members.
  • Familiarity with structured project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2).
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience of role modelling critical Agile capabilities and ways of working
