Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) in Wagga Wagga is looking for an Operating Room Assistant to support safe, high‑quality patient care in the theatre. You will work with a multidisciplinary perioperative team to prepare theatres, position patients and transport them as required.

This Permanent role is available as Full Time, Part Time or Casual, up to 38 hours per week, with a salary of $67,094.86–$68,847.01 per annum plus super and leave loading where applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility and willingness to work a rotating roster with varying shift times
• Ability to follow directions, demonstrate initiative and apply effective problem-solving skills
• Commitment to maintaining privacy, confidentiality and professional standards

Responsibilities

• Transportation of patients
• Preparing operating theatres as per theatre schedules
• Preparation and position of patient
• Cleaning of operating suite as per guidelines
• Maintain compliance with appropriate theatre apparel as required and as per ACORN Standards
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary perioperative services team
