Job summary

South Gippsland Shire Council is seeking an experienced leader to oversee Open Space and Environment services in parks, reserves and townships. Based at the Leongatha Depot with travel to Foster and other depots, you will plan, coordinate and supervise horticultural works and crews to deliver a high standard of service.

The role requires a Certificate 3 in Horticulture/Arboriculture/Turf/Landscape construction, strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational crews in parks and horticultural settings.
• Certificate 3 in Horticulture/Arboriculture/Turf/ Landscape construction required.
• Able to manage teams, support continuous improvement and work as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience programming works and coordinating teams, contractors and materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead Open Space and Environment staff to deliver horticultural services across parks and townships.
• Plan, organise and implement maintenance and capital works.
• Travel across South Gippsland and supervise depot-based operations.
