Job summary

Ballarat City Council is seeking a Project Officer – City Design to help design and deliver upgrades to parks and reserves and implement the Ballarat Open Space Strategy. You will lead and support projects across streetscapes, urban renewal sites, parks and reserves, and transport corridors.

The role is full-time and permanent with hybrid working options in Ballarat. We welcome applicants with landscape architecture or open space planning expertise who are motivated to improve Ballarat's public

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Open Space Planning or related discipline or relevant practical experience.
• Experience designing / delivering and/or communicating projects to improve open spaces, parks, reserves and the public realm within a local government context desirable.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills including experience in project management and preparation of tender documentation, contracts, briefings, proposals etc.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated experience in managing relationships in a political environment
• Proven attention to detail and ability to be planned and organised.
• Intermediate proficiency with computer programs—AutoCAD, the Adobe Suite, SketchUp and/or GIS experience is desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead and support upgrades to parks and reserves.
• Deliver streetscapes and urban renewal sites.
• Implement the Ballarat Open Space Strategy.
• Coordinate projects with design and project professionals.
• Deliver planning for the open space network.
