Job summary

Neat Metal in Melbourne is seeking a production leader to take ownership of workshop output, ensuring safety, efficiency and timely completion. You will spend the day on the shop floor, directing the team, tracking progress and preparing each job for its next stage.

The role requires a trade qualification in metal fabrication or boilermaking or substantial equivalent experience, with a track record of meeting deadlines and supervising fabricators. Ascora experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience allocating work and meeting production deadlines.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret build instructions.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to anticipate next steps for each job.
• Experience in custom or architectural metalwork with attention to quality finishes.
• Competence with steel, aluminium and stainless-steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily work across the fabrication team with clear priorities.
• Organise the team and monitor progress on the workshop floor.
• Resolve problems and ensure the next stage is ready for production.
• Supervise fabricators to meet production deadlines.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and is ready for the next stage.
• Maintain a tidy, functional workshop and provide clear direction.
