Job summary

Talent Up Education Pty Ltd seeks an enthusiastic online reading tutor to lead engaging sessions for children aged 4–12. You will encourage reading aloud, explain vocabulary, and foster discussion and comprehension in a supportive online classroom.

Applicants should be native English speakers with teaching experience and strong preparation skills. This role offers online teaching with no commute and pays $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience.

You will lead engaging, interactive online reading sessions that help children develop reading confidence, vocabulary and comprehension. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and brings warmth, energy and encouragement to every lesson.

Applicants must be native English speakers. We warmly welcome applications from kindergarten teachers, early childhood and primary teachers, and university students currently studying education.

Key responsibilities

Lead interactive reading sessions, encouraging children to read aloud, ask questions and share ideas.

Explain new vocabulary and help students use new words in their own sentences.

Build reading comprehension through age-appropriate questions, discussions and activities.

Adapt your teaching to suit different ages, abilities and learning needs.

Create a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels comfortable participating.

Prepare for lessons using the books and teaching materials provided by Talent Up.

Work collaboratively with our team and share feedback on student participation and progress.

About you

Clear pronunciation and strong written and verbal communication skills.

A genuine passion for teaching and supporting children's learning.

A patient, friendly and encouraging approach.

A responsible and reliable attitude, with strong preparation and time-management skills.

Good teamwork skills and openness to feedback.

A reliable internet connection and a quiet space suitable for online teaching.

Teaching or tutoring experience with children aged 4–12 (preferred).

EAL teaching/turoing experience (preferred).

A completed or in-progress Master of Teaching or Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and/or Primary Education (strongly preferred).

Experience teaching early literacy, phonics or reading comprehension (preferred).

Confidence teaching online and keeping young learners engaged (preferred).
