Job summary

Specsavers is hiring a full-time Optometrist for an on-site role in Merrylands, NSW. You will conduct comprehensive eye exams, assess ocular health, and determine suitable spectacles or contact lenses while collaborating with ophthalmologists when needed.

You will maintain precise clinical records and contribute to a positive customer experience, with ongoing professional development and adherence to Specsavers' standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in optometry and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Optometry Board of Australia.
• Strong clinical skills in refraction, ocular health assessment and contact lens fitting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain clinical findings clearly.
• Ability to work in a busy retail clinical environment with staff to deliver coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction and ocular health evaluations.
• Recommend appropriate optical solutions and prescribe spectacles or contact lenses.
• Co-manage patients with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers when required.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and support the store team with clinical guidance.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and adhere to Specsavers' clinical standards.
