Job summary

BMD Group, a leading Australian engineering, construction and urban development business, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor for the Darwin Ship Lift Project. The role is FIFO (15 days on / 6 off) and requires a capable HR professional to partner with project leadership on both strategic and operational HR matters.

You will handle recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning and compliance in a fast-paced construction environment, with travel and on-site responsibilities

Qualifications

• Tertiary HR qualifications or related discipline.
• Experience as a generalist HR advisor in construction, infrastructure, mining, resources or project environments.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and IR frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide generalist HR advice to project leaders and employees across a range of people matters.
• Partner with project leadership to deliver workforce planning, engagement and retention initiatives.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment for blue/white-collar roles including sourcing, interviews, offers and onboarding.
• Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary matters and workplace investigations.
• Support interpretation of Enterprise Agreements, Awards, policies and employment legislation.
• Coordinate workforce mobilisation and employee movements across the project.
• Build relationships with operational leaders and act as HR advisor to stakeholders.
• Maintain Indigenous Participation Strategies and contribute to Reconciliation Action Plan initiatives.
• Monitor training records, compliance, and project reporting obligations.
• Identify opportunities for HR process improvements and participate in broader HR initiatives.
• Support industrial relations activities and escalations as required.
