Job summary

Aldesta Hotel (Australia) on Heron Island seeks a Financial Accountant to join our resort team on site. The role reports to the General Manager and Financial Controller, with duties spanning weekly revenue reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.

You will maintain the general ledger, manage reconciliations, and assist with BAS, cash flow forecasting, and debtors. Mandarin skills are a plus; Australian residency is preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Gladstone.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Studying towards CA/CPA/ACCA is preferred.
• Clear and effective communications skills are essential.
• Able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
• Able to translate financial information to non-finance staff.
• Mandarin speaking and writing highly advantageous.
• Legal working permits including Australian residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weekly reporting of resort revenue and commentary.
• Weekly bank reconciliations and revenue journals.
• Month end balance sheet and stock take activities.
• Monthly BAS preparation for external accountant.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and reconciliations.
• Cash flow forecasting and debtors management.
• Adapt to change and implement new processes as required.
