Job summary

Empire Office Furniture in Townsville is seeking a physically fit warehouse professional to build, deliver and install office furniture and workstations for a range of business, government and domestic customers. You will ensure goods match invoices and delivery dockets, assist with weekly stock unloading, and work with the despatch team to maintain a clean, organised workspace under supervision.

• Experience with power tools and ability to learn furniture assembly of flat pack and component-based furniture.

• Delivering, assembling, and installing office furniture, including workstation fit-outs.
• Safely receiving, checking, loading, unloading, and delivering goods.

Job description

We are looking for a physically fit and energetic worker that can build, deliver and install office furniture and workstations to a wide range of business, government and domestic customers.

You will be responsible for checking that all goods to be labelled / collected / delivered match the product details on invoices and delivery dockets.

The applicant will assist with unload stock weekly from our distribution warehouse and work with the despatch team to maintain a well-organised and clean workspace under the guidance of the despatch supervisor.

Interact and communicate with our staff, customers and suppliers in a safe and professional manner that lives up to our reputation of excelling our customers' needs and requirements.

What we're looking for.

• Physical Fitness:Ability to lift and move heavy items safely. (manual handling is a key part of the role).
• Hands-On Skills:Experience with power tools and ability to learn furniture assembly of flat pack and component-based furniture.
• General vehicle maintenance: taking pride in the vehicle, including start-up procedures.
• Attention to Detail:We take pride in our work, and so should you. you will need to have the ability to interpret drawings and plans with guidance from manager.
• Dispatch and consigning of orders:deliver products in a ‘ready to use’ condition and adhere to any special delivery.
• Customer Service Skills:You’ll be the face of our company when working with customers, so a friendly attitude is key!
