Job summary

CARED is redefining allied health with a flexible, clinician-led telehealth and community model. We’re seeking experienced Occupational Therapists who bring clinical excellence and heart, with hybrid work from home and in-person sessions as needed.

As an Independent Contractor, you’ll set your schedule, work with NDIS participants, and grow your private practice while using our smart tech to match clients. You’ll benefit from a supportive clinician community and flexible hours across Australia.

Qualifications

• 3+ years post-graduate experience in occupational therapy.
• Experience delivering online therapy / telehealth sessions.
• Experience working with NDIS participants or people with a disability.
• AHPRA registration and eligibility to practise in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments and ongoing therapy via telehealth and in community settings.
• Match clients to available services based on experience and preference.
• Collaborate with a clinician community and maintain independence as an IC.

About the role (where your magic comes in)

We’re looking for experienced Occupational Therapists who bring both clinical excellence and genuine heart.

These are hybrid roles - combine telehealth from your home (or private professional space) with community-based, face-to-face support where needed.

You’ll work with a diverse and meaningful caseload, including clients with:

• Ongoing therapeutic intervention
• Progressive neurological conditions (MS, Parkinson’s)
• Paediatric and adult clients across different life stages
• Neurodiverse clients (autism, ADHD)
• Psychosocial, intellectual and physical disabilities

We receive referrals for assessments, reports, and ongoing intervention, and we take the time to match you with clients aligned to your experience, interests and preferred demographics.

You’ll never feel like you’re working alone - ongoing client support and a collaborative clinician community are part of the deal.

If so, we can only offer Assessment Only roles to OTs who offer:

• Complex Home Modifications
• AT Prescription and Trials
• Driving and Community Mobility Assessments

Of course, specialist expertise with assessments invite higher pay rates.

About you (aka our kind of human)

You’re confident, compassionate, and clinically sharp. You value autonomy but love being part of something bigger.

You’ll bring:

• Ideally, you have at least 3 years of professional post-graduate experience
• AHPRA registration
• Experience working with NDIS participants / people with a disability
• Experience providing online therapy / telehealth

And, as an Independent Contractor with CARED, you’ll need:

• Capacity to provide assessments & ongoing therapy. This is not an assessment only role UNLESS you have the specialisations listed above
• A private, professional workspace with reliable internet, camera & mic
• Australian Business Number - ABN
• Appropriate business insurances (Professional Indemnity – PI, and Public liability - PL)

This is an independent contractor opportunity, not a salaried or full-time employment position.

Our role is to connect practitioners with clients and participants who require allied health services. We provide referrals that can help you grow and supplement your existing private practice, rather than guaranteeing a fixed caseload or income.

This opportunity is best suited to practitioners seeking flexible work that complements an existing private practice, business, or employment arrangement, while maintaining full control over their schedule, workload, and service delivery.
