Job summary

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service is recruiting an Occupational Therapist - Senior for Hospital in the Home in Cairns North QLD. You will deliver high level OT services in a complex, varied setting with minimal supervision and contribute to patient-centred care.

The role includes providing clinical advice to diverse health professionals and leading practice development, research, and service improvements to optimise patient outcomes in the HITH program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high level occupational therapy clinical services of a complex and varied nature to consumers of Hospital in the Home in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision.
• Provide timely, high level clinical advice to health professionals and stakeholders regarding occupational therapy management and service delivery across clinical areas.
• Provide leadership in evidence-based and patient-centred occupational therapy practice and education, and initiate and participate in clinical research and service improvement projects.

HITH provides care in a patient's permanent or temporary residence for conditions that require ongoing clinical governance, monitoring, and/or treatment, as a substitution for in-hospital admitted care.

About your role:

• Deliver high level occupational therapy clinical services of a complex and varied nature to consumers of Hospital in The Home in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision.
• Provide timely, high level clinical advice to a range of health professionals, supervisors, managers and stakeholders, both internal and external to the Hospital and Health Service (HHS), regarding occupational therapy management and service delivery in various clinical areas, including prioritisation and changes in clinical practice, equipment, and technological advances.
• Provide leadership in the provision of evidence-based and patient-centred occupational therapy practice and education and initiate and participate in clinical research and service improvement projects in order to optimise health outcomes.
