Job summary

Mid North Coast Local Health District in Dorrigo NSW is seeking an Occupational Therapist Level 3 for a temporary part-time role (16 hours per week) from 12 Oct 2026 to 01 Nov 2027.

You will provide and coordinate occupational therapy services for inpatients, outpatients and community clients, lead quality improvement projects and supervise junior staff, in accordance with professional ethics and district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
• Experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of occupational therapy services across diverse settings
• Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team and provide supervision

What you'll be doing
Provide and co-ordinate appropriate occupational therapy services for inpatients, outpatients and community clients as referred in a manner consistent with professional code of ethics and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures. Contribute to service development by identifying, leading and evaluating quality improvement projects and providing professional oversight to junior staff.

About You
You hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, providing a strong professional foundation for advanced clinical practice. You bring significant expertise in the planning, implementation and evaluation of occupational therapy services, consistently delivering high‑quality, client‑centred interventions across diverse and complex settings.

You apply advanced reasoning skills and exercise sound professional judgement, drawing on evidence‑based practice to navigate complex clinical situations with confidence and clarity. Your interpersonal and communication skills are highly developed, enabling you to consult effectively, negotiate constructively and resolve conflict in a professional and collaborative manner.

You work autonomously with minimal direct supervision while contributing effectively as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team. You demonstrate strong organisational capability, planning and coordinating client care, prioritising duties and structuring work plans for yourself and your team. You delegate tasks appropriately to therapists and therapy aides, ensuring safe, efficient and well‑coordinated service delivery.

You have the capacity to provide supervision and leadership to occupational therapy staff, supporting professional growth, fostering clinical excellence and contributing to a positive team culture. You also hold a current NSW driver’s licence and are able to travel as required for service delivery.
