Job summary

Moyne Health Services in Port Fairy is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions, advice and education for clients referred to MHS.

You will work across settings including Acute Ward, Community Health and Residential Aged Care, with a focus on person-centred care, quality standards and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.
• Experience in Acute Hospital, Residential Aged Care or Community Health.
• Understanding of Accreditation Standards and NSQHS.
• Strong communication and teamwork within a budget.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions and education to clients.
• Deliver services across Acute Ward, Community Health and Residential Aged Care.
• Act as SME for other MHS departments or committees.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and quality systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimise client outcomes.

Job description

The role of the Occupational Therapist is to provide therapeutic interventions, advice and education for clients referred to MHS.

Services provided may include adapting the environment, modifying tasks, teaching new skills, education and accessing supports.

The Occupational Therapist may also be consulted as a subject matter expert by other MHS departments or committees.

A range of Occupational Therapy services may be provided across the organisation in the following settings; Acute Ward, Community Health, Residential Aged Care, Social Support Groups and staff wellbeing programs.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy

Key Selection Criteria:

Qualified Occupational Therapist with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.

Knowledge and understanding of various funding streams and the available support programs available to people

Service delivery experience within an Acute Hospital, Residential Aged Care and the Community Health sector.

Understanding of Accreditation Standards, quality systems and continuous improvement models

Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

Demonstrated experience managing service provision within an allocated budget

Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS)
