Job summary

Early Start Australia invites graduates of Occupational Therapy to join our OT Grad program across our national network. You will receive structured onboarding, dedicated supervision, and a buddy to help you settle in, with mentoring from a senior clinician across clinics, client homes, schools, and telehealth settings.

You will work within close-knit, multidisciplinary teams, balancing in-clinic and community-based sessions, while pursuing ongoing CPD and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for AHPRA registration.
• Just finished or finishing your studies in early 2026.
• A full valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Help children achieve development milestones (fine motor, coordination) across play, school and daily activities.
• Educate and involve parents, carers and others to facilitate development and learning.
• Support children with developmental delays in everyday tasks and positive behaviours.

Your role as an OT Grad

• Help children achieve their development milestones such as fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to help play, school or independent skills (eg throwing a ball, getting dressed, holding a pencil or utensil)
• Educate and involve parents, carers and others to facilitate the development and learning of children
• Help children with developmental delays learn everyday tasks (such as bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth and feeding themselves)
• Help children with behavioural issues maintain positive behaviours in all environments (eg instead of hitting others and acting out, using positive ways to deal with anger such as writing about feelings or participating in physical activity)

You Will Also Have

• A degree in Occupational Therapy
• Eligibility for AHPRA registration upon graduating

• A valid Working with Children Check, or be willing to obtain
• A clear current Police Check, or be willing to obtain
• NDIS Workers Screening Clearance, or be willing to obtain
• First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to obtain
• Excellent communication and time management skills, and attention to detail
