Job summary

Vision Australia is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our Townsville team in a permanent full-time role. In this transdisciplinary, person-centred position, you’ll support adults who are blind or have low vision to live the life they choose—working across clinic, home, and community settings.

You’ll conduct assessments, deliver interventions to support independence in daily living, facilitate programs, and recommend assistive technology while maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration required.
• Excellent communication, empathy and adaptability.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Passion for empowering people to achieve independence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and deliver interventions to support independence in daily living.
• Facilitate individual and group programs aligned with client goals.
• Recommend assistive technology and environmental modifications.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to ongoing professional development.
