Job summary

North Queensland Therapy Services invites an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Townsville team. You will work with adult clients, support return-to-work for injured workers, and perform home safety assessments and driving assessments. The role includes equipment prescription and field visits across Cairns, Mackay, and surrounding areas.

You will travel regionally and enjoy one work-from-home day every fortnight as part of a dynamic, patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

• Experienced occupational therapist with adult clients.
• Willingness to travel across regional Queensland and towns.
• Experience with home safety assessments and functional evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Support injured workers on their return-to-work journey.
• Conduct home safety assessments across client populations.
• Perform driving assessments for occupational therapy needs.
• Prescribe equipment and mobility aids as appropriate.
• Conduct worksite visits and field-related assessments.

Are you an OT who wants real variety, not another desk job? At North Queensland Therapy Services, no two weeks look the same.

Since 2000, our team — led by founder Anna Nicholls — has been helping North Queensland's injured workers, ageing population, and people with complex injuries live safely and independently. We're now looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join us, working 4 or 5 days a week with adult clients.

What your work will look like

• Supporting injured workers on their return-to-work journey
• Home safety assessments across a range of client populations
• Occupational therapy driving assessments
• Equipment and mobility aid prescription
• Working with clients with catastrophic injuries — spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations and more
• Pre-employment functional assessments and functional capacity evaluations
• Functional Capacity Evaluations
• Worksite visits to interesting workplaces and regions
• You'll travel across the region — to Cairns, Mackay and wherever the work takes you — so if you like getting out of the office and into the field, this role is built for you. You'll also get one work-from-home day every fortnight.
