Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation Unit on a permanent part-time basis, 20 hours per week. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to achieve rehabilitation goals and maximise patient independence.

You will handle caseloads in a supportive hospital environment, with a focus on evidence-based care and ongoing quality improvement, reporting to the Rehabilitation leadership.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist (no restrictions).
• Experience in OT assessment and treatment of orthopaedic and neurological conditions using a problem-solving approach.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical OT services of a complex nature, managing caseload priorities and discharge planning.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to enable effective service delivery and documentation.
• Hold a current Australian driver’s license.
• Membership of OT Australia is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Nursing, Visiting Medical Officers, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Dietitians and Pharmacists to optimise patient outcomes.
• Provide high-quality OT assessment and treatment and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Manage caseload priorities and support discharge planning within the Rehabilitation Unit.
• Contribute to a safe workplace and accurate documentation within a hospital setting.

About the role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Rehabilitation Unit. The successful applicant will be offered permanent part-time employment, working 20 hours per week. Salary range: $46.11 - $61.86 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing

As an Occupational Therapist your expertise will be invaluable to the multidisciplinary team in the Rehabilitation Unit. You will work with Nursing staff, Visiting Medical Officers, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Dietitians and Pharmacists to ensure best patient outcomes are achieved.

As an Occupational Therapist you are expected to provide exceptional service to patients and contributing to a multidisciplinary team, managing caseloads, measuring outcomes and displaying an ongoing dedication to continuous improvement. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of the requirements for contributing to a safe workplace in a hospital environment.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist (no restrictions)
• Experience in occupational therapy assessment and treatment of various orthopaedic and neurological conditions using a problem-solving and objective approach
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional occupational therapy clinical services of a complex nature, managing caseload priorities and discharge planning
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form to enable effective service delivery and documentation
• Hold a current Australian driver's license
• Membership of the OT Australia (desirable)
